The Rural Municipality of Grey has an extensive fleet of heavy equipment and a knowledgeable, skilled and proficient public works department staff. Ongoing operations such as gravel, snow clearing and grading of municipal roads are managed by the Public Works Foreman and carried out by the department staff. Special projects such as drainage works and the priority route upgrades are identified each year by the Public Works Committee according to priority and are undertaken in accordance with the annual financial plan.
The department consists of the Public Works foreman and 6 full time equipment operators as well as 2 seasonal operators dedicated to the rural area.
